Fishing Vessel Major Conversion Project: Originally built as a 187’ x 45’ US Navy Research Vessel at Halter Marine Corporation in 1991 as the USNS John McDonnell (T-AGS 51). Hockema provided design, engineering, and support for the major vessel conversion project, which was completed in 2016 at US Seafoods’ facility in Seattle, WA:
- Vessel length was increased from 187’ to 227.8’.
- Design & arrangement of the fish catching & processing systems/equipment.
- Design of all structural modifications to the hull.
- Hockema designed Gantry added to the stern extension.
- Cargo Hold (dry) capacity 37,900 cu ft.
- Updated Stability book provided.
